  The title refers to Wild Iris, but also Sweet (Dames) Rocket, which populate the Michigan countryside in May and early June. A lazy stream drifts by, flowing thru quiet farmland. It's late afternoon, with some soft, hazy sunlight illuminating the landscape. High summer is about to burst open. A rich, earthy smell emanates from the stream, an indication of unseen activity below the surface.
